International Family Day 2022 : The Importance of Family
Brief History Family Day
Since 1994, every year on the 15th of May, the United Nations has observed International Family Day. This day honors the importance of families around the world, as well as fostering a well-balanced and healthy family life. As a result, this day honors the family as society's fundamental unit.
Why is Family so important?
The family is widely seen as the most significant social institution, with a fundamental and critical function in child care and development.
Love is received in the family through pleasant family interactions, which is equally important for a child's social and emotional development.
Family love and nurturing is a key requirement for later-in-life healthy partnerships.
Family gives security, allowing an individual to feel safe and free to reach their full potential.
Family members such as siblings, grandparents, uncles and aunts, and others provide some of the most valuable life lessons and early role models, largely through the role of parents, but also through other family members such as siblings, grandparents, uncles and aunts, and so on.
Although school plays a significant part in the socialization of children, family is also crucial. Simply put, family provides the first stage of education and socialization because it instills important and lasting values that are passed down through generations.
Because a family is a small-scale representation of a society, with clearly defined roles and obligations, norms, and responsibilities, some essential family values are actually the core of our civilization.
